Antidote Records aims to give a platform to artists who make
interesting, fresh and inventive music. Think of us as embodying the
original concept behind hip-hop music - taking in a myriad of musical
influences, mixing them all up together, and coming up with something
fresh.
Recently, too much music seems to fall into stereo-types and
pigeon-holes - brain-dead pop music, idiotic gangster rap braggadocio,
nerdy back-packer rhymes, unlistenable abstract gubbins. At Antidote we
say "ufck the wack isht".
From DJ Yoda's wacky remixes of the A Team
theme, to Prince Paul working with his dream A List of MCs, to Madlib
messing around with reggae seven inches, to Steinski remixing classic
old school hip-hop, one element remains consistent at Antidote - It's all
